Specifically, how do carrier gas and shielding gas differ ?
Although both gases share the inert argon gas, their roles within the process are separated. The powder transport gas acts as a carrier , pushing the metal powder filled inside the powder hopper up at a constant pressure and stably transporting and spraying it through a long feeding line to the tip of the head nozzle. On the other hand, the shielding gas directly supplies a shielding flow to the melt pool formed by the laser melting the metal and the area surrounding the high-temperature processing section, acting as a protective barrier to tightly prevent oxidation caused by the reaction of residual oxygen in the atmosphere with the high-temperature metal.

How is the system for metal fume emission and hazardous dust cleaning generated during processing configured?
To safely capture and block fine metal dust and gas fumes generated during the processing process, the system can be integrated with an external wet separator or facility exhaust system between the internal flow path of the equipment and the factory utility exhaust line. We provide technical consulting support regarding related equipment connection methods and safe line configurations tailored to the site's factory utility infrastructure and on-site conditions.

What software is used for Insstek equipment operation and process simulation?
MX-OS, Insstek proprietary control software, is used for overall machine interface operations, including real-time hardware control, sensor monitoring, equipment operation, and setting management. In addition, MiXO Pro (exclusive to the MX-Fab series), a dedicated additive control software, is applied for process planning and CAM tasks that automatically generate 5-axis DED toolpaths based on input 3D CAD model data and pre-verify potential collisions between hardware during machining.

What is the level of surface roughness of the finished shape (as-printed)?
The surface roughness of the purely additive state, without undergoing post-processing (separate cutting or grinding), typically shows arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) and ten-point mean roughness (Rz) results within a precision range of 15 to 100 based on μmmeasurements from Insstek standard material database . This varies depending on the particle size distribution of the input metal powder, the laser beam size set in the process , the thickness of the additive layer, and the additive strategy (Scan pitch) conditions.

Fiber laser and blue laser light sources that match the equipment ?
Insstek System is an industrial-grade high-output ytterbium We adopt a Ytterbium Fiber Laser source as a standard specification and equip it with high-output specifications of 2kW or higher depending on the processing model and required productivity , offering up to four beam sizes (800μm, 1200μm, 1600μm, and 2400μm). Additionally , when applying a Blue Laser system for processing special high-reflectivity materials, we configure 1kW or 2kW light sources to suit process specifications, providing up to two beam sizes (1000μm and 1500μm) . Detailed laser manufacturer information and specific spec sheets are provided separately as detailed specifications during the equipment proposal quotation and individual technical project consultation stages.
